The honest part

A free money app still has to make money. Usually off you.

Bank connections cost real money every month. When an app charges nothing, that bill gets paid some other way: your transactions sold on to data partners, "recommended" credit cards and loans that earn a referral fee, or ads built from what you buy.

  • They sell your data

"Aggregated", "anonymised", "shared with partners": the words change, the trade doesn't. Your spending is the product.

  • They sell you products

That card offer at the top of the dashboard is there because someone paid to put it there, not because it's right for you.

  • They sell your attention

Ads need you scrolling. An app paid for by ads is built to keep you in it, not to get you out of debt.

How we make money

Pro. $5.99 a month, or $49 a year, for automatic bank sync. That is the whole list. Everything you can type in by hand is free for as long as you use it, with no ads, no offers and no selling your data, ever.

Debt payoff

See the day you'll be debt-free

Most money apps treat debt as one more category. Here it gets a plan of its own, and the plan tells you the truth. Move the slider: the date and the interest move with it.

  1. Honest about minimums

Cards get a planning payment that actually shrinks the balance, not the bank's grace-period minimum that goes on forever. When a payment can't cover its own interest, the app says so, by name.

  2. Try extra payments before you make them

Snowball or avalanche, any extra amount. Every payment you free up rolls to the next debt automatically. The date and the interest update as you move the slider.

  3. Every kind of debt, with the details that matter

Promotional APRs with end dates. Mortgages with escrow, taxes, and PMI. Auto loans with a VIN lookup. Student loans, personal loans, anything with a balance.

Try it with your own numbers

AI, on your terms

Ask Claude about your money. Don't hand Claude your money.

You could export statements and paste them into a chatbot. Then the model has everything, for good, and does the arithmetic itself. Or connect the assistant you already use to My AI Fin App: it asks a question, the app answers from your numbers, and you decide how much it is allowed to touch.

Pasting statements into a chatbot

  • Every transaction and every merchant, kept in the chat history
  • The model does the math itself, and sometimes gets it wrong
  • No way to take it back once it's uploaded

Through the My AI Fin connector

  • Answers to the questions you ask, not a data dump
  • Read-only unless you switch on editing. No payment or transfer tools, ever
  • Your bank login is never involved, and you can revoke access in one click

If I put an extra $150 a month on the Visa, when is it gone?

September 2028. At $150 a month on top of the minimum, the Rewards Visa ($6,240 at 24.99% APR) is gone in 24 months instead of 258 at the minimum alone, and you pay $1,689 in interest instead of $11,860.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I have to connect my bank?
No. Manual entry is a full path: add debts, transactions, and budget lines yourself and every feature works. Connect a bank later if you'd like the app to keep things current for you.
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything you can enter by hand is free, with no ads and no data selling. Bank sync is the Pro feature, and it's included free for everyone during early access. When billing starts we'll give notice, and the free features stay free.
Snowball or avalanche, which should I pick?
Avalanche pays the highest interest rate first and costs the least overall. Snowball pays the smallest balance first and gives you wins sooner. The calculator shows both with the dates and the interest, so you can choose with numbers rather than a rule of thumb.
How does bank sync work, and is it safe?
Connections go through Plaid, the same service most banking apps use. You sign in on Plaid's screen, so your bank password never reaches us. We receive balances and transactions, refresh them nightly, and you can disconnect from settings at any time.
Can I ask Claude or ChatGPT about my finances?
Yes. My AI Fin has a connector (an MCP server) that lets an AI assistant read your data with exactly the access you have in the app, and tidy your transactions if you allow it. Set it up under Settings, Assistants. It is part of Pro.
Can my partner use it with me?
Yes. Create a household and invite them by email. You'll share debts, budget, goals, and transactions, and each member's bank connections feed the same picture. Roles keep it clear who can change what.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Export everything as CSV from settings, and delete your account from the same place when you want it gone.
Is there a phone app?
You can install it from your phone's browser today and it works like an app, with its own icon and full screen. Native App Store and Google Play builds are in progress.
